Our kids started skiing when they were 2 or 3. At the time, we lived in Massachusetts and spent as many weekends as we could driving north to the White Mountains.

Eventually, we moved to New Hampshire to be closer to the mountains. The kids joined seasonal programs, and a few years later our daughter found competitive freeskiing.

And that's pretty much where normal family vacations ended.

My husband and I didn't grow up skiing. We knew nothing about teams, competitions, coaches, gear, points, summer training, or the fact that we'd eventually plan most of our travel around where and when our daughter needed to ski.

We've been figuring it out ever since.

Skiing eventually brought our family from New England to the Rockies. Now it takes us to training camps, competitions, mountain towns, and places we probably never would have visited otherwise.

That's what I want to share here. The places skiing takes us, what we discover along the way, what we've learned as parents, and all the things we're still figuring out.

But I don't want this to be just our story.

If you've found a mountain we need to visit, a place worth staying, something every ski parent should know, or learned a lesson the hard way, share it. If you're new to all of this like we once were, ask questions.

Because the best information we've picked up over the years has usually come from other people living this life too.

That's the idea behind Freeski Social Club.

Our experiences, your experiences, and a place to figure some of this out together.

We have no idea where skiing will take us next.

Come find out with us.

Welcome to the club.
